Chennai Super Kings defeated Delhi Capitals in Friday's game to enter the final of IPL 2019. The game had some brilliant moments from Faf du Plessis exceptional fielding to Chennai's bowling. The men in yellow dominated on all fronts. While there were various game-changing moments in the match, Mahendra Singh Dhoni's call for DRS when Prithvi Shaw was caught LBW was the biggest magic moment for CSK fans.
Dhoni is well renowned for his sharp assessment skills when it comes to such tricky reviews. More often than not, the veteran wicket-keeper batsman manages to get his calls spot on. This was another such occasion.
Delhi opener Prithvi Shaw was looking dangerous early on, and it was the third delivery of Deepak Chahar's over and the ball hit Shaw on the right leg. The height of the impact possibly made the umpire think that the ball was going to miss the stumps but Chahar looked convinced of a wicket and a DRS was taken by Dhoni soon after.
The replays showed that the ball was going to hit the top of the stumps and the umpire, hence, had to reverse his call. The decision went in CSK's favor who earned their first wicket of the match in the process. Once again, MSD worked his magic with DRS calls, and the umpire had to overturn his decision.
After Prithvi's wicket, Delhi started losing batsmen at regular interval and slumped to a total of 148 which Chennai easily chased courtesy of an excellent opening stand between Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis.
Next up for Chennai is the final against Mumbai at Hyderabad. Both MI and CSK are tied at 3 IPL titles each and at the end of this year's final we will have one team who will become the most successful franchise of IPL. Chennai are the defending champions and have momentum going into the final, while Mumbai's all-around performances make them favorites for the title. Should be one hell of a match, an absolute treat for cricket fans.
