Once again efforts by the citizens of Indore and municipal corporation have proved beneficial for the city. Indore is declared as the cleanest city of India for the second time. The news got viral on social media and citizens are feeling proud. Social media users shared images of Indore being the cleanest city. Citizens of Indore also referred as 'Indorii' are in a celebratory mood now.
Mayor Malini Gaur herself shared this news. Once Indore too was like other cities in case of cleanliness. But the work of municipal corporation and the campaigns of 'Swacch Bharat Abhiyan' were taken seriously in Indore. For this purpose garbage picking vehicles were run all over the city by the municipal corporation. The citizens too cooperated and supported the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan. Indorii people controlled and avoided throwing garbage here and there and made proper use of dustbins. Once again Indore is ranked India's number one city for its cleanliness. On the second number is again a city of M.P. It's none other than the state capital Bhopal.
People are happy with this achievement for the city and it seems like they are willing to maintain this record in the coming years. The streets of Indore are clean now but the scenario was different before two years. The citizens were made aware about keeping their city clean by using a combination of media. Singers such as Shaan and Kailash Kher especially lent their voice for making songs on cleanliness in the city.
Its all about the proper media usage and campaign planning done by municipal corporation along with the support of citizens, which has led Indore to become the cleanest city. Jalandhar is ranked as the third cleanest city of India. The Swacchata survekshan was done by an independent agency which included keeping an eye on service progress, visiting sites for direct observation and taking citizen feedback.
