Lots of Indians really thinks a lot about future. The same happened with Rajeev V Bagdi, who purchased a plot on the moon 16 years back and that too, for just around $140, which is approximately Rs 9500.
He purchased the plot in the year 2003 and the area of the plot is 5 acres. With the successful launch of India's lunar mission Chandrayaan-2, there is a big hope for him on landing over the moon during his lifetime.
Rajeev V Bagdi had purchased the plot from the New York-based Lunar Society International, 16 years ago.
In a recent interview, he told, "As an Indian I feel proud over the successful launch of Chandrayaan-2. It will bring lot of goodness to the mankind.”
The fact is that, we all think that buying a plot on the moon will cost a fortune. And Bagdi purchased the land on a celestial body years ago for a negligible amount.
A lot have been heard about moon tourism and also Mars tourism. There are many attempts that are being made to make it a reality.
Rajeev V Bagdi really believes that the moon tourism will become a reality by the year 2030.
He also said, "When I purchased the plot, I thought at least my coming generation will benefit from it, but now I am hopeful that I will be able to go to the moon with my family."
Rajeev V Bagdi, who owns an ayurvedic store, had been fascinated by the moon since his early days. He has all the official documents, which were issued by the Lunar Republic. The deed of the property was registered by the Lunar Registry in New York on July 27, 2003. He also said that there are other people who have also purchased a plot on the moon.
"When I bought the plot, people laughed at me. They called me a fool and lunatic. I felt happy for giving them a break," he said.
