The month really made the Indian athletic fans very much proud and this is something unique that the Indian athletes have not achieved in the history.

Indian boxer MC Mary Kom won the gold medal at the President's cup and Vinesh Phogat was also able to win the accolades at Yasar Dogu. Apart from them, players such as Mirabai Chanu, Elavenil Valarivan, Tababi Devi and Mehuli Ghosh also claimed glory during the month of July 2019. But another disappointing side is that the Rio Olympics silver medalist and shuttler P V Sindhu lost in the finals of the Indonesian Open and archer Deepika Kumari had to settle for a silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Archery Test event. 71 medals out of the 227 medals were won in athletics that was held in countries such as Poland, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyztan. This is something like a proud moment for the Indian athletics and all the hard-work and efforts in the recent times has been bearing the fruits.
