Historic win of Indian Hockey Team in Asian Games with 26-0

Asian Games 2018 are going on and India is in its full zest and enthusiasm as the players of all the games are playing exceptionally well and continuing to make our country proud.

Indian Men’s Hockey Team who played their second match at the 18th Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta & Palembang against Hong Kong China, today. After defeating Indonesia with 17-0 in their opening match, the Men In Blue made a breathtaking record defeating Hong Kong in their second match of the tournament. India making their 18th goal of the match in the third quarter broke the Asian Games record for the maximum goals scored in a match.

Previously, when India was playing against Indonesia, India had equaled Pakistan's record of maximum goals scored in the history of Asian Games. India’s previous highest record of the win was a 12-0 over Iran in 1974 and Bangladesh in 1982. In 1932, India had defeated the United States with 24-1 in the Los Angeles Olympics.

Players who broke the records at the Asian Games are Akashdeep Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Lalit Upadhaya, Manpreet Singh, Rupinder Pal Singh, Sardar Singh, S.V Sunil, P.R Sreejesh, Surender Kumar, Varun Kumar, and Vivek Prasad. These boys just made the history.

Announcing the same Hockey India official twitter handle wrote, "The Indian Men's Hockey Team score 26 goals against Hong Kong China in their third game of the @asiangames2018 which saw 4 players claim hat-tricks and a sublime team effort to achieve the large score-line on 22nd August 2018".
