Hindi Diwas Special: Bollywood Movies Which Did Exceptionally Well In Foreign Countries

14th September is celebrated as the Hindi Diwas. Well, not many are aware but there is a reason why this day is celebrated as Hindi Diwas. On this day in 1949, Hindi written in Devanagari script became the official language of India under the Article 343. India has 22 scheduled languages out of which, two are officially used at Union government of India level one is Hindi and other is English.

Union Environment Minister Harsh Vardhan tweeted, "Though all Indian languages, Gujarati, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, originated from Sanskrit, Hindi is the most convenient for most of the population."

So Hindi film industry and its movies are not just famous in India but there's a lot of craze internationally also. On the special occasion of Hindi Diwas let's take a look at Hindi films which did exceptionally well at the foreign box-office.

The Aamir Khan starrer film was a blockbuster hit not only in India but also in the foreign land. was the highest grossing Bollywood film of all time in the North American market with earnings of 79 crores at the box-office. At the Australian box-office, it earned Rs 13 Crores.

The Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer film gained positive reviews as well as earned well at the Indian box-office. It is the highest grossing Bollywood film of all time in Pakistan with collections of 37 Crores.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan

Salman Khan's film Bajrangi Bhaijaan is the highest grossing film of all time with collections of 60 Crores in Gulf countries like Oman, UAE etc.

King Khan of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan's Dilwale has earned more than Rs 6 Crores at Singapore box-office and is currently the highest-grossing Bollywood film there.

Dhoom 3

Seems Aamir Khan's antagonist avatar has been quite liked by the international audiences. Dhoom 3 became the highest grossing film in the UK market. It raked in 2.7 Million GBP or 23 Crores at the UK box-office.
