Hima Das which is a name every athlete respect and give honor to... Of course, we know that how brilliantly she made our nation proud with her performance in the Asian Games 2018. Hima Das, nicknamed the "Dhing Express", is an Indian sprint runner from the state of Assam. She holds the current Indian national record in 400 meters with a timing of 50.79 s that she clocked at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. She won the Gold medal in Athletics at the 2018 Asian Games – Women's 4 × 400 meters relay.
Now she moving towards social work and wants that her village Kandhulimari in central Assam should develop and become famous for its existence.
She at one interview with Hindustan Times said, "I really want to develop my village For that whatever needs to be done, I will do. That’s why I had led the campaign. Even now I am part of a newly-formed Brothers Club, in which my cousins and my friends are involved. It works for the betterment of the village."
She also stated, “They are just performing their task the same way, I will do mine. They used to discuss with me before taking any step. I was also involved in the student’s union. We would roam around and go together whenever there was any problem. There I had named the group ‘Mon jai’ (I feel like, in Assamese). It is my favourite tagline from a song and I use it in almost all social media posts.”
She is a very down to earth person as she never took the credit of making that town famous, she always said that it is the people of the town who made it feel proud. Likewise, I want that everybody should take a step towards the betterment of her village.
Hima was born on 9th January 2000 and at a very tender age, she made everyone feel proud and give a salute to the young girl.
