High Court: No urgent relief to be provided to Raj Kundra; Bail plea hearing adjourned till July 29

The Bombay High court on Tuesday, 29 July refused to grant any sort if relief to Raj alleged production and distribution of pornographic films via mobile application, without first hearing the prosecution.

Justice AS Gadkari briefly heard Raj's advocate and directed the cops to file it's affidavit by July 29 in reply to Kundra's petition.

Raj, businessman and the actor Shilpa Shetty's husband was arrested on 19 July by the Mumbai police in the connection to adult films case which filed against him in February, 2021. Soon after he got arrested he was sent to city court. On Tuesday , a magistrate court remanded him in for 14 days.

On Tuesday, Kundra's advocate Aabad Ponda and Subhash Jadhav had argued in the high court that his arrest by the Mumbai Crime Branch is illegal as he was not issued a proper notice of appearance under Section 42 A of CrPC. Raj, in his plea has also said that material which the crime branch claimed to be pornographic really didn't depicts it's a sexual acts but shows material in the other forms.

After Raj's arrest, the crime branch says that he is the key conspirator of pornographic films racket case. He has been booked Under IPC sections 420(Cheating), 34(common intention),292, and 293(related to obscene and indecent advertisements and display) and relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.
