Technology has given us advanced version of many things. Smartwatches are one of this kind. In the market, smartwatches which are available are really expensive and this why there are limited number of people who decide to buy a screen that has limited number of uses.
But what of you make your own smartwatch with all the things you want? An engineer did the same as he built a smartwatch from the scratch. The guy named Samson March shared about his latest invention and posted about it on Reddit. The watch is not only incredible but is also good.
It took few weeks to him to invent the watch. He did the coding by himself which has great battery life of seven days. The smart watch takes 2.5 hours to get full charged. The watch can display colour-coded notifications from his smartphone, including messages, emails, and his calendar. The only core feature it seems to currently lack is music playback.
March says he tried to use the cheapest-available materials possible. His build cost an estimated total of about $50, or Rs 3,500. He says that, "as a rule of thumb, for a product to be successful and make a profit, you would have to sell it for four or five times the cost of the goods." Thus he expects that he would have to charge between $200 and $250 to make a profit which means Rs 13,800 to Rs 17,300. The price is still lower than other average smartwatches that are available in the market.
March reveals that he has no intention to put his designs available for the mass production. But, the guy has posted a video in which he has shared a single detail of building a smartwatch. Watch out below and if you wish to make your own smartwatch, then go ahead.
This guy have five year of experience as he worked as a product designer. He says"We live in the golden age of making -- there's no better time than now to start making things," further saying "You can DIY anything -- next up, a DIY spaceship."
