Film and television actress Gul Panag married her friend Rishi Attari who is a captain in Jet Airways and now the couple has a baby. Interestingly, the baby is not newborn, in fact, she gave birth to the baby 6 months back. They kept this happy news locked for a period of six months and now introducing their baby whom they name Nihal to the world.
Recently, she gave an interview to a daily in which she talked about her motherhood journey, her experience to have a baby at this age and how she gets back health within just three months of giving birth to her baby.
On taking the decision to become a mother at the age of 39, she says: "I think having a baby is a very significant step in life, and like marriage, you should think it through carefully before committing to it. Have children when you are ready to welcome them and can raise them happily and responsibly, not when society says you must."
Being a mother isn't easy as it is like a roller coaster ride and Gul to experience this ride said: “Rishi and I have always valued our privacy. Becoming parents is a special experience and we decided that we’d like to go through it without the distraction of public attention. Family and close friends knew about Nihal but we refrained from posting anything on the social media. He is almost six months old and it has been a roller coaster ride! I’m charmed by his gurgles and giggles even if it is a bit of a struggle with erratic sleep and feeding schedules. Life and goals are taking shape parallelly, with a little more coordination between Rishi and me to include Nihal."
The former actress also talked about paying attention to the aspects of diet and fitness. According to her, proper diet and fitness are required for the well-being of a new mom. It shouldn't be neglected in the face of physical demands of taking care of the baby. She says: "Nihal was born prematurely so I didn’t put on too much weight. Even though the pregnancy, I took care to eat healthy and have always been very active, so it was easy to get back to my workouts and shed the extra kilos."
As of now when her little munchkin Nihal is 6 months old, she is now focusing to take each day as it comes and focusing on being a role model for her baby Nihal.
The actress has also achieved her dream to become a pilot. In her dream to turn into reality, her husband helped her. To this, she said, “My husband helped me convert my dream into a goal. The emotions I felt when I took my first solo flight are inexpressible. The fact that only a few exclusive adventurers have the ability to fly is exciting."
She enrolled in the Chimes Aviation Academy in PPL (Private Pilot Licence) programme. She says, “The academy has excellent instructors for both on-ground and in-flight training. Given my professional commitments, I divided my course into four batches of ten days each. To clear the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) exam I had to dedicate a month and a half to studying."
