Yuvraj Singh is one of the most prolific and great batsmen who recently announced his retirement.
After his retirement, he is currently playing the GT20 in Canada. Even after getting retired, he doesn't have lost his touch and in a recent match at the GT20, the batsman showed glimpses of his talent.
During the said match, Yuvraj played an important role for his team Toronto Nationals, who won their match against Edmonton Royals by two wickets.
In the Global T20 Canada match, Toronto Nationals needed 192 runs to win from 19 overs and had a shaky start when the team lost their opening pairs at the score of 29. Then it was Yuvraj who joined South Africa’s wicket-keeper batsman Heinrich Klaasen to continue the run chase. They put up a partnership of 56 runs for the third wicket in a quick pace. This really bought Toronto Nationals back into the game.
Yuvraj Singh scored a blitzkrieg 35 runs from 21 balls, which included 3 sixes and 3 fours and was really in a flourishing mood. But his innings was short cut by Ben Cutting, but he was able to entertain his fans with his delightful strokes that really reminded of his former days. The highlight of his innings was a flat six that was struck by him off the bowling of Pakistan leg-spinner Shadab Khan.
After this, the Toronto Nationals' batting line up again crumbled and at one stage they were reeling at 125/7 in the 14th over. Manpreet Gony of Toronto Nationals was not ready to give it away and tried to do his best. He played an amazing known of 33 runs off just 12 balls and this made sure that his team won comfortably in the end. Toronto Nationals won the match in the 18th over.
We wish all the best to Yuvraj Singh (Yuvi) for his future endeavors.
