The whole nation is praying and extending help to the people of Kerala who are stuck and have lost their homes and property. People are making small contributions as donations in terms of money, clothes and food. Several online apps like Paytm and Zomato have come forward to provide an easy platform to people to make donations. Bollywood celebrities too are doing their parts and encouraging others to do the same.
At the same time, our real heroes have been deployed to evacuate people. Till now our Army has saved over 23,000 people, and over 2,000 people have been provided medical aid. Moreover, they also constructed 15 temporary bridges and restored the connectivity at 42 locations.
We often forget to thank our real heroes who are the first ones to save us in times of calamity.
Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has shared a post on Instagram to thank such heroes. She wrote, "All the Temples, Mosques & Churches were underwater in Kerala, but God came in Uniforms to save everyone .पूरे दिल से शुक्रिया हमारी आर्म्ड फ़ोर्स का #jaihind #thankyou #Ourheros #Army #Navy #Airforce"
The Army has deployed five medical teams and two columns, each consisting of 60-50 personnel.
Our Army is working tirelessly to save people from the wrath in Kerala.
Indian Navy too has joined the rescue operation by deploying 10 rescue teams, one advanced light Helicopter, ten motorized boats, and one seeking helicopter. A Navy spokesperson said, “More than 3,000 people have been rescued till date by the SNC and continuous efforts are on to bring the flood-affected people to safety and also provide them essential relief supplies such as food and water."
He further said, “As all the assets of SNC have been committed to this operation, other Commands have provided additional disaster relief items comprising 1,000 raincoats, 1,300 gum boots, 264 lifebuoys and 1,000 life jackets."
The India Air Force has deployed two Mi-17 helicopter which can carry 24 people at a time.
