Gautam Gambhir turns 37, some interesting facts you should know about the ace cricketer

Gautam has turned 37 today on 14 October. Gautam pursued his education from Modern School, New Delhi. In 2000,  he was selected for the first intake of The National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

Gautam Gambhir is a tough character on on-and-off field, who played significant roles in the finals of the ICC World T-20 2007 and 2011 cricket World Cup to guide his team to title wins. He was India's top-scorer in 2007 ICC 20 finishing with 227 runs. It was the second highest overall, behind Mathew Hayden's 265. His opening partnerships with Virender Sehwag were outstanding for India to get to the top in ICC Rankings. Even India has never lost a match under his captaincy. Gambhir bagged a deal of 2.5 million dollars for KKR and became the most expensive player in the history of IPL.

Gautam was proved to be the most complete batsman between 2008 and 2011 World Cup. He has opened well in all forms of the game. Moreover, he completed 10000 runs from his 56 Tests, 147 ODIs and 37 T20I. He has been a grand contributor to Indian cricket. In  2008 he was presented "Arjuna Award" by the President of India.

When M Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan arrived, Gambhir was sidelined until an England tour in 2014 when he was called up as a back-up opener. He returned after more than one year but ended on a sour note when he dropped four innings. Gautam was a mainstay in Delhi Daredevils.

Well, we all are aware that Gautam is serious as well as India's most loyal and effective cricketers. Here wishing Gautam a very happy and prosperous birthday!
