Gautam Gambhir Takes A Light Dig On Yo-Yo Test By Uploading An Adorable Video Of Daughter

The yo-yo test is currently one of the topics which have become a hot topic among the sports enthusiasts especially the cricket lovers. For the uninitiated, no matter how good cover drive or pull shot, if you can't beat the 'beeps', as you run between two markers placed 20 metres apart, for a few minutes, you can no longer make it to the Indian team — Tests, ODIs or T20s.

Sandeep Patil, India's former swashbuckler, coach and selector, has strong views on the yo-yo test result being made the sole criterion for dropping off a few, otherwise outstanding performers from the Indian cricket team. And rightly so! "Trainers, rather than selectors, now decide who plays for India," he recently told Clayton Murzello of Mid-day.

Gautam Gambhir recently tweeted about the test. The Delhi batsman posted a video of his daughter going through an obstacle course which he titled: 'Looks like my elder one Aazeen has cleared the Yo-Yo test!!! What do you think @YUVSTRONG12 @harbhajan_singh @sachin_rt ?'.

Interestingly, the cricketers whom Gambhir tagged in his post - Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh - have in previous instances suffered the dishonour of failing the test.

Right before India vs England ODI, the news of Rohit Sharma being unfit and asking for some time to get fit was doing rounds on the social media. He was later allowed to play for the country.

Social media users were not happy about and felt that the Team India management needs to explain why he was given the concession. And if he was given time to prove his aerobic fitness, why were Rayudu, Samson and Mohammad Shami not given a second opportunity?

The yo-yo test has surely become a topic to talk about among the sports lovers. Gautam, however, made the topic lighter with his tweet.
