Gauri Khan inspires fans with a peek inside her beautiful sea-facing bungalow Mannat

Gauri Khan is an Indian film producer and designer, and also the wife of the Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan. As we all know, Gauri Khan is not fond of flowers and we can never see floral arrangement and artificial plants that get featured in any part of her house. Instead of flowers, you can see potted ferns that are scattered around the tables everywhere.

She says that the plants give out positive energy and they also provide good amount of oxygen. She is also very passionate about the vertical gardens and she has installed vertical gardens at her bungalow, Mannat that faces the sea at Backstand in Mumbai. This is one of the most popular landmarks in the city today and this mansion is very well adored by her husband's fans for about 20 years.

Gauri Khan always stays away from the public attention, but once Casa Vogue team gets into her house, she becomes too much talkative about her life and work.

She says that her house Mannat has become the blank canvas for her and has helped her in her growth as an interior designer. As the family grew, a lot of renovations and redesigns have been made so as to suits various needs.

“I don’t like minimalist spaces,” explains Gauri Khan. “I love things that are warm, eclectic, personal and collectible. My home has been built gradually over years of collecting stuff that I feel passionately about. It’s essential to make something your own.”

The terrace of the house is the happiest place for her and for Shah Rukh and the most endearing aspect of the house is its facade.

She tells Casa Vogue about the frontage that is untouched white, stylish, impressive, with huge pillars that have featured in limitless selfies of buffs who throng the place on a daily basis.

The former Viennese villas has a six storey annex, with multiple bedrooms, terrace, garden and also elevators and personal quarters. There is also an expansive entertainment space for various activities. The villa is a mixture of Italian architecture and neo-classical elements.

The mansion is quieter these days as their two kids, Aryan and Suhana, are in Los Angeles and New York for their studies. With her younger kid AbRam still getting into the action, things have become noisier now.
