Gangs Of Wasseypur becomes the only Indian film to make it to The Guardian’s 100 best films

As per latest reports, the two-part drama "Gangs Of Wasseypur" by Anurag Kashyap has attained the 59th spot on Guardian's list of 100 best films of the century. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap said that he is proud to be part of this, but he is not at all inclined towards the list.

He said that there are a lot of movies that are listed below "Gangs of Wasseypur”, which really deserves better ranking, especially "The Dark Knight" by Christopher Nolan. The Guardian's list of 100 best movies of the 21st century has been released and Anurag Kashyap said that he agrees with the movie who claimed the No 1 spot in the list. Anurag Kashyap also said that "Gangs Of Wasseypur" indeed ruined his movie making career due to the huge expectation it set. The film maker is hopeful in breaking away from this dilemma and he is waiting for that day.

As per The Guardian, the movie "Gangs Of Wasseypur" is a stylish, visceral film-making which is violent and hard hitting. It also said that the movie has all the valid claims to be India's answer to "The Godfather". The movie revolves around the story of three thug families who fight for their supremacy for almost half a century. The movie was a great success at the Indian box office and there were huge appreciation for Anurag Kashyap for his wonderful work that he did behind the screen for the movie.

The movie "Gangs Of Wasseypur" is the online movie from India that has featured on Guardian's list of 100 best movies of the 21st century. There are also Hollywood movies such as 12 Years Of Slave, The Wolf Of Wallstreet, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Ted and The Incredibles which have made it to the list. But it is indeed a proud moment for Indian film industry and the fans expect more movies from India to hit the list.
