Bill Gates announces that he will not be a part of the leading group of Microsoft Corp as he is stepping down from the board. He founded Microsoft in the year 1975 and it's among the top-notch companies in the world. After stepping down from the board, he will be focusing more on philanthropy and guiding tech leaders.
From the past decade, Bill Gates is minimizing his involvement in the board. Currently, he was guiding Satya Nadella on innovation areas including efficiency, healthcare and technology optimization and will be continuing to do that.
Right from the year 2008, he has actively been involved in his charity foundation with wife Melinda. As of now, he will be focusing more on philanthropy and will be involved in giving speeches to help upcoming tech leaders. He worked as the CEO of Microsoft until 2000 and after that, he served as a director of the company until February 2014.
Bill Gates has also planned to step down from the board of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., the organization run by his friend Warren Buffett. As a replacement of Bill Gates, Kenneth Chenault, former CEO of American Express Co., will join Berkshire's board, Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
