Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is among the few actors, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kangana Ranaut, Rani Mukerji and Aditya Roy Kapur, who have stayed away from social media.
But this is about to change soon. The actress is all set to make her digital debut on Instagram.
Ash was not very keen on the idea of being on social media. In an interview, she had said, “I think you should use it for its strength and not get drowned in it for its capacity to isolate as well as and make you just an individual and cease to be a people’s person.”
But last year, she had revealed, “The time has come for me to join social media.” And now, she is ready to make her foray into the digital world. Says a source close to the actress, “Ash has a huge fan base on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Her fans have been waiting for her to be on social media for a long time. It’s due to constant requests from her well-wishers, admirers and fans from all around the globe that she opted to start an official handle to keep them abreast of her life and projects, etc.”
She will join Instagram on May 11, which is one day before her red carpet appearance at Cannes 2018 (May 12).
Ash wasn’t keen on this move, and it took a lot of convincing from her friends and team to get her nod for the idea. “Ash’s closest buddies from the industry, which include Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra and others, have been telling her to join social media. Even her team persuaded her a lot. Before her 17th Cannes appearance, the L’Oréal team also discussed this with her. Finally, she decided to go ahead,” adds the source.
