Elon Musk got rejected for a role at Netscape which led him to start Zip2- a web software company that went on to make him a millionaire. Despite being one of the world’s famous personalities, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX is humble down to earth person.
The techie often interacts with the netizens and the people who look up to him as a role model. A factoid was revealed when a social media user shared a throwback picture of the now-billionaire entrepreneur and wrote, “In 1995, Elon Musk wanted to work with an Internet company (sic).”
Furthermore, the social media user added that Elon Musk applied to work at Netscape after his graduation. The company is an American computer services company. However, he never got through, so he started his own internet company Zip2 as ‘he wasn’t able to get a job anywhere'.
Elon Musk responded to the Twitter user’s tweet and clarified that he could get a job back in the 90s- not just an Internet company because there were not too many of it back in the days.
Musk’s tweet read, "I could get a job, just not at an Internet company (weren't many back then) (sic).”
In the yesteryears, Elon Musk also has had a brief stint in the gaming industry. He went on to sell his first company Zip2 to Compaq for roughly $300 million in the year 1999.
As of now, he is among the top few billionaires of the era and surely will be climbing up the ladder of success in the future.
