Ellen DeGeneres to shut her famous talkshow in 2022 after 19 years

The daytime's most famous show, 'The Ellen DeGeneres Talkshow' which is known for controversial statements by celebrities, is set to shut down after 19 years. The shocking announcement was made by Ellen DeGeneres on a latest interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Ellen DeGeneres launched the show in 2003 and the show has won more than 60 Emmy awards. The show has hosted many popular celebrities including Indian actors like Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra.

According to reports, DeGeneres will discuss the end of the show on Thursday's show with Oprah Winfrey. The show is set to close next year, 2022 with the upcoming episodes being the last one. The end coincides with the end of the contract.

"When you are a creative person, you need something challenging you constantly. While the show is fun, it is not challenging anymore. I want new challenges," said Ellen.
