Ekta is without a doubt the woman who has brought a revolution to the television industry. She started her career at the age of 15 as an intern with feature filmmaker Kailash Surendranath. But at that time, she wouldn’t have thought that she would become the face of television industry in India. It can be said that she is the queen of Indian television ever since she became producer.
The producer welcomed a baby boy in January 2019 via IVF surrogacy. Ekta as we know shares a tight bond with her father, Jitendra and that’s why the producer decided to name the baby after her father’s name, Ravie Kapoor. She is currently the best example of how to manage things between family and work.
In an interview with Times of India, Ekta revealed how she takes care of things and especially her newborn. She has to take him to her office in order to spend some time with him, otherwise, her team takes care of most of the things. She said, “Being a working mother, one has to manage things.” The producer also talked about his son’s temper and said, “I checked his chart and got to know that he has a high temper. People think am short-tempered, but he is the one.”
When she got to know about the baby, she told film critic Anupama Chopra, “When I knew that the surrogate had conceived, and it was on June 7. On my birthday I got to know. I was a bit overwhelmed. I was like 'Okay this is happening. This is going to be a huge responsibility. I just wrote a show out which is going to be with an A-list Bollywood actress. It's called Mentalhood. It's about motherhood and every time we did the scripting about the Momzillas and the pressure you go through, the guilt you go through, tiger moms, helicopter moms, I was constantly feeling overwhelmed. But now I have realised that I have a lot of guilt even now.”
We appreciate how she manages things, kudos to you, Ekta!
