Man Made 65 Kg Chocolate Idol Of Ganesha, Later Served It To The Nearby Slums With Milk

This year, while celebrating the Ganpati festival, people came up with different ideas on how we can save the environment or make less harm with all the plastic material or flower and from all the pollution that we create during the festive season. Everyone took Lord Ganesha or Bappa on the 13th of September to their homes and worshiped him. With this, environmentalists have raised concerns over the immersion of the idols or statues which adds up to immense water pollution as there will be lakhs of idols which are installed at homes, locality, temples.

To resolve this issue, a Punjab-based restaurant owner has come up with a unique solution. He made a 65-kg chocolate Ganpati idol, so on the Visarjan Day they would immerse the idol in the milk and serve them to the slums nearby the area. His name is Harjinder Singh Kukreja and based in Ludhiana. He is a Restaurateur, a Sikh Philanthropist, World Traveller featured in Forbes, Tech & Travel Influencer. This is the 3rd time, he is doing the same which took 10 days, 20 chefs to get it prepared.

Sharing the picture on Twitter Official he wrote, "This is our 3rd year of making Chocolate Lord Ganesha. It took 10 days, 20 chefs & 65 kgs of chocolate for the #ChocolateGanpati to be made. The intention is to inspire people to celebrate #GaneshChaturthi in Eco-friendly ways! #गणेशचतुर्थी #GanpatiBappaMorya #GaneshUtsav".

Explaining the idea of eco-friendly Ganesha, he posted a video. Have a look:

Talking to The Indian Express, Kukreja said, "There is nothing Hindu or Sikh about this festival. We all love Ganpati Bappa. He is the God of good beginnings and brings good luck. More than communal harmony, the idea is to give a message of eco-friendly celebrations. We will be immersing idol in milk and after symbolic Visarjan, chocolate milkshake will be distributed among underprivileged children".

Further, he added, "Food wastage should be reduced in every way possible so we are making edible Ganpati since 2016.
