Dutee Chand, one of the popular Indian athletes recently made headlines for winning a Gold in an Internation event. Despite gaining the second place after Hima Das, Dutee has the ability to surpass the historic record. All the Indian athletes are gearing up for the upcoming Olympic qualifications. Among them, Dutee Chand is one of the most eligible athletes for the upcoming 2020 edition in Tokyo.
At the World Championships that will take place in the month of September, Dutee Chand is looking forward to surpassing the qualification time of 11.15 seconds in the 100-meter qualifiers. In the previous year i.e., on 10th July, Dutee Chand clocked 11.32 seconds and grabbed the gold at the World University Games in Naples. As a result, she secured second place as an Indian sprinter to win a Gold.
During the same event, Hima Das secured the top position in the 400 meters at the World Junior Athletics Championships in the year 2018. With the victory, Dutee Chand turned out to become the first Indian to win a 100-meter event at an international event. The time has now come for the real challenge in the form of World Championships.
In this event, the topmost and highly skilled sprinters across the world will compete and try to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. As per the report, the qualification time in the women's 100-meter is 11.15 seconds. Dutee Chand has a personal record with 11.24 seconds in her previous international event. For surpassing the mark, Dutee Chand needs to overcome her 0.09 seconds target. It may not be a simple task for the sprinter.
However, we think in a positive way for Dutee Chand to create history in World Athletics event. The World Championships will be organized in the months of September and October. The event will actually start on 27th September and ends on 6th October. We wish all our Indian athletes including Dutee Chand to make a historic record through their performances.
