As we all know Genelia D'Souza aka Genelia Deshmukh is an Indian film actress and model who has a huge fan following in India and she is going to be 32-year-old on this 5th of August. Earlier, she has appeared in Telugu and Tamil films before entering into Hindi cinemas. In the year 2003, after gaining wide attention in a Parker Pen commercial with Amitabh Bachchan, Genelia began her acting career with Tujhe Meri Kasam, which was a box-office hit and the same year, she was also recognized for her role in Boys and later established herself in Telugu cinema by acting in several Telugu films during the years 2003 till 2012.
In 2006, Genelia received her first Filmfare Award for her performance in the Telugu romantic film, Bommarillu. The film also earned her critical acclaim. Genelia, in year in 2008, gave critically acclaimed performances in Santosh Subramaniam, a Tamil remake of Bommarillu, and the Bollywood movie Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na. Genelia has established herself as one of the leading actresses of the South Indian film industry by acting in several commercially successful movies in Telugu and Tamil. Genelia has hosted the television show Big Switch apart from her acting career. She is also the brand ambassador of Fanta, Virgin Mobile India, Fastrack, LG Mobiles, Garnier Light, Margo, and Perk in the India subcontinent.
At the age of 15, Genelia did her first modeling assignment and the result of which being spotted as the bridesmaid at a wedding. She was selected for the Parker Pen commercial with Amitabh Bachchan, just two days before her exams and had to shoot the next day. She, because of her exam the next day, initially refused but the director persuaded Genelia to shoot for the commercial. With Amitabh Bachchan, she gained wide attention from the Parker Pen commercial. Big-B about her acting said - "she was good and her expressions were spontaneous". Further, she did a Fair & Lovely Cricket World Cup advertisement in 2003 with cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth.
