I Didn’t Want To Disturb Dharmendra’s Family Said Hema Malini

In flashback Friday we are here with an interesting excerpt from an old interview of veteran actress-turned-politician Hema Malini, which recently resurfaced in the media.

In this interview, Hema Ji opened up about Dharmendra’s first wife and also said a few things about her equation with Dharmendra’s children from first wife—Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeeta and Ajeeta.

Being candid Hema Ji said, “the moment I decided to be a part of Dharmendra's life, I was clear that she would never disturb or come in the way of his other family.”

In her biography Hema Malini: Beyond The Dream Girl mentioned about Dharmendra's first wife Prakash Kaur and Dharmendra's first family: "I didn't want to disturb anyone. I am happy with whatever Dharamji did for me and my daughters. He played the role of a father like any father would do. I guess I am happy with that."

During the launch of her biography, Hema Ji openly said in the media that,

"Everyone wonders what kind of a relationship we (Sunny and I) are having. It is very beautiful and cordial. Whenever it is necessary he (Sunny) is always there, along with Dharamji, especially when this accident happened. He (Sunny) was the first person to come and see me at home and he saw that the right doctor is there for the stitches that were done on my face. I was really taken aback to see him showing so much interest. That shows what kind of a relationship we are having."
