Deepika Padukone is happily married now with oh-so-charming actor Ranveer Singh. They dated more than 6 years before finally getting hitched. On the other hand, Ranbir is dating Alia Bhatt. Before falling in love with Ranveer, Deepika was dating Rishi Kapoor's lad Ranbir Kapoor, and they were considered one of the best couples of B-town.
But their relationship witnessed an ugly break-up which left fans shocked. They were also planning for their engagement when this news came. They fell for, each other on the set of Bachna Ae Haseeno in 2008. However, the ex-couple is friends now and also working in movies together.
The reason behind their break-up was cheating. The actress admitted to having caught the actor cheating on her and it became the reason why they parted their ways. After which, Ranbir started reportedly dating Katrina Kaif.
Taking about the reason for their break up. Deepika said, “For me, s** is not just about physicality; there are emotions involved. I have never ch*** when i was in a relationship. If I’m going to be fooling around, why would I be in a relationship? It’s better to be single and have fun. But not everyone thinks like that. Maybe that’s why I’ve been hurt in the past. I was foolish enough to give him a second chance because he begged and pleaded, despite the fact that everyone around me said he was still straying. Then I actually caught him red-handed. It took me a while to get out. But having done that, nothing can make me go back. That ship has sailed.”
In the interview, the actress also spoke about Ranbir's infidelity, she said, “The first time he cheated on me, I thought there was something wrong with the relationship, or me.” She added, “But when someone makes a habit of it, you know the problem lies with him. I give a lot in relationships and don’t really expect much in return."
Padmaavati actress considers infidelity a deal-breaker. "But, infidelity is the deal-breaker. Once it comes in, respect goes away, trust goes away and these are the pillars of a relationship you can’t f*ck around with it."
