The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is just about to begin from 30th May and the fans all over the world are excited for the event. The 12th edition of the Cricket World Cup will be hosted by England and Wales. The first match of the tournament will be played at The Oval and the finals will be played at Lord’s. The World Cup fixtures have already been announced and all the teams are gearing up to win the trophy. The last event was won by Australia, who are defending champions this year. The International Cricket Council (ICC) arranges the tournament every four years. The World Cup began in 1975 and since then, it has become one of the biggest sporting events in history. Australian Cricket Team is the most successful team when it comes to World Cups because they have already won it five times and this time they will be defending it again.
Over the years, many great players graced the World Cup while representing their nations. From Sir Viv Richards to Sir Allan Border and Sachin Tendulkar to Shane Warne, many greats from different teams have boosted their teams to victory in the tournament. Sachin has played most number of World Cups and have also scored the maximum runs in the tournament’s history. We might be looking forward to the event that is going to start by the end of this month, but we cannot forget the legends that have made the previous tournaments glorious.
