Central Board of Secondary Education has issued a new rule which is in favor of the toddlers, as now all the schools affiliated to CBSE make sure not to give homework to Classes I and II. The notice was issued on August 13 to all the school to ensure that the NCERT laws which govern the curriculum of CBSE schools for Classes I to VIII on the light bag and no homework rule for Class 1 and 2 are executed.
This law is enforceable after the notice of Madras HC to CBSE, demanding it to assure that the reports sent out by the board are effectively implemented. As well as, the HC has also ordered yesterday to the recently made rule of no homework policy should be circulated in the media so that all the parents can get aware of that. The order was passed by Justice N Kirubakaran.
As per the CBSE affiliation bylaws, all the schools which are associated with the Central Board Of Secondary Education are required to satisfy the no school bag and no homework for students up to Class 2. The notice issued states, "It is also reiterated that since NCERT is an academic authority for classes 1 to 8, all schools may ensure that CBSE circular dated April 17, 2007, on reducing the satchel load and homework for children, is scrupulously followed."
After the decision, High Court told CBSE to check the status and measures the school is properly following the rules or not. The judge said, "People are considering CBSE as a premier board, but it is unfortunate that you do not even have a system to check such violations."
As per the Judge concluded, "As you said there were over 18,000 schools affiliated to CBSE, but the board has a staff strength of only 1,200. With such a low staff how could you ensure implementation of rules."
Well, a good news for little kids who are overburdened with studies.
