BSNL offers free broadbands for work from home; comes with paperless activation, say authorities

Due to ongoing lockdown, all companies have given their employees the facility of work from home. To support this decision, telecom firm BSNL on Friday declared free broadband help for its landline and new customers for a month to help this process to be carried out in a straightforward way.

The new customers that are already having the copper link based phone connection won't need to pay any fees even for the installation. The people just need to buy a new modem and the connection will get activated within a couple of hours, BSNL authorities said.

This broadband assistance is being offered for free of cost for 30 days to all residents the nation over, who have BSNL landline and don't have any broadband, so they can utilize this connection either to work from home, teach from home or anything that can limit the need to go outside of their houses.

Another BSNL official said the plan is also available for its all postpaid customers and they can also avail this for free without paying anything. The authority said the connection fees will be very less for the users picking optical fiber networks. BSNL users can apply for the connection right from their phones and its a completely paperless process said authority.
