Huma’s first movie Gangs of Wasseypur was a big hit and it got a lot of admiration from reviewers and viewers alike. In spite of several notable performances in the movie, the actress’s turn as Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s companion Mohsina Ahmad remained on top and she unquestionably became the talk of the town.
Dedh Ishqiya was a hit film in which the actress shared the screen space with dhak dhak beauty Madhuri Dixit and superb actor Naseeruddin Shah. In the black comedy, the actress bagged a lot of praise for her character of a confidante to Begum Para, donned by Madhuri. An elated Huma stated, “I am happy that my character of Munia won so much praise. It is a role close to my heart and a deliciously complicated character. I had jitters before the release.”
In this Supernatural suspenseful story Ek Thi Daayan, which also has Emraan Hashmi, Konkona Sensharma and Kalki Koechlin, witness the actress donning the role of a witch. Even though the movie bagged mixed response from reviewers, it remained a profitable project at BO.
The actress got witnessed in the tricky character of a prostitute in Sriram Raghavan’s super duper hit crime story Badlapur, together with two well-known stars Varun Dhawan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. And she impressed the viewers with her acting once again. She bagged the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress nomination as well. She had given a power packed performance.
Huma’s Jolly LLB together with Akshay Kumar witnessed her donning the character of a badass companion who backs her hubby in turning his life on the right track. But what stood out in Huma’s presentation was the authenticity and her ideal dialogue delivery.
