Big B and Jaya Bachchan tied the knot owing to a celebratory London trip; read full story

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan are the most ideal pairs in the history of Hindi film industry.

It was on June 3, 1973, that the two lovers got married and, ever since then, both of them have been giving us all some major couple goals for generations.

Decades after Amitabh Bachchan and his life partner wife Jaya Bachchan said 'I do' to each other, the mega star of the Bollywood recently talked about how they tied the nuptial knot.

While their romantic kinship is all filmy, did you know the marriage plan of the two were quite bold, so much so, that it took place over a London tour?

In a recent episode of his well-known TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh remembered that how he and Jaya were shooting for a movie and they made up their minds to take a trip out of the country if their movie Deewar was a mega hit.


“I hadn’t been to London and neither did Jaya. So once the movie released and became a box office success, we thought of putting our plan into action,” revealed Big B.

The biggie then remembered how after the flick's massive triumph, the two decided to visit London.


Shortly after the plan, the Deewar star informed his mom and dad that he will be going to London with his friends.

Well, his dad then questioned on the complete aspects, comprising the name of individuals the actor will be going with. And, as Big B revealed Jaya’s name, his dad ordered him to wed to Jaya and then continue with his London tour.

“When I mentioned Jaya’s name amongst other friends, he immediately told me that agar jaoge to vivaah kar ke jao… And that’s how we planned our wedding the very next day and proceeded to London.”

And that's how the two biggies made plans to wed the very next day and then flew to London where their luckily ever after started.
