Bhumi Pednekar gives a Befitting reply to her Trollers

Anurag Kashyap's production Saand ki Aankh is in making and makers of film earlier this month revealed the first look of Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu as shooter dadis. As the young actresses are playing the role of old women, the look doesn’t seem to do justice for group of viewers. There were various comments on Twitter and other social media platforms . One among it read "Would have preferred to see Neena Gupta in this role; make-up is looking extremely bad and fake," . According to few people, the makers should have casted older artist from the industry for the movie.

Senior women actress Neena, Amrita Singh and Dimple Kapadia  as per reports were spoken to for the roles which is now being played by Bhumi and Tapsee.

Well, for all those who have opinion and commented on the looks of stars, actress Bhumi who is playing the role of Prakashi Tomar (a sharpshooter from Uttar Pradesh) has a great reply for them.

In a interview with Mid-day the actress responded to trolls by saying "In the past, people have played characters older than their age successfully. Anupam Kher in Saaransh (1984) and Nargis ji in Mother India (1957) are great examples. If we can play characters younger than our age, why can't we play older characters as well?"

It is not the first time in industry that a you get actor is essaying a role of elder one. In year 1984, in  Mahesh Bhatt's film Saaransh, a 28-year-old Anupam played the role of a 60-year-old man.

Taapsee Pannu, who is portraying role of Chandro Tomar in Saand Ki Aankh, said "I have played a college kid after turning 30, and no one questioned me then. Instead of making an issue, people should be surprised that we took up these roles, as there are few actors who take the risk of ageing on screen unapologetically,".

On April 15, Anurag Kashyap on April 15 on his Twitter account shared the  first look poster of Saand Ki Aankh featuring Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar as "shooter dadis".

The film is scheduled to release this year.
