Actress Shweta Basu Prasad has a good news for her fans. Chandranandini actress has recently got engaged to her longtime beau Rohit Mittal who is a filmmaker. The two were introduced to each other by director Anurag Kashyap.
They were dating each other for four years and it was Shweta who proposed to Rohit for giving their relationship a name. Shweta announced her engagement but denied making any further revelations as both of them want to keep their personal lives private.
The actress who appeared in many TV shows and movies since her childhood is majorly focused on working in Tamil and Telugu movies. Her next movie is with actor Naseeruddin Shah entitled as 'The Takshkent Files'. It is political thriller made by filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri.
Her role in 'Makdee' was impeccable and is one of her most famous performance as a child artist. National Film Award for best child artist was given to Shweta for 'Makdee' where she played a double role of twin sisters 'Chunni' and 'Munni'. She has done many TV shows which includes Karishma Kaa Karishma, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki and Balaji's 'Chandranandini' playing the main lead. She also appeared in movie 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' as 'Urmila Shukla'.
Shweta Basu Prasad was also in news for a controversy. She was detained by police for being indulged in a high-profile prostitution racket. But Shweta got to be very lucky as there was no effect on her career because of this controversy. The actress who is currently 27 hails from Jamshedpur and was shifted to Mumbai with her family in childhood days. She belongs to a family of artists. Her father is a diploma holder in direction and acting whereas Shweta's mother is a musician and writer. She uses both of her parent's surname 'Basu' and 'Prasad' as her screen name.
