B-Town Celebs Akshay, Sonam, Ayushmann and Others’ Concern Over Amazon Wildfire

The Amazon Forest, popularly known as the 'Lungs of Planet' is currently on rage with continuous wildfire. After sharing the photo of the same on Instagram by DiCaprio, some of the Bollywood celebs understood the severity of wildfires in the Amazon forest. Soon after sharing the picture, it went viral within no time and also shared across different social networking platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Some of the popular Bollywood actors such as Akshay Kumar, Arjun Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Alia Bhatt, and others took their official social media account to bring awareness among the people regarding the fire in Brazilian rainforest for the past 3 weeks. Bollywood has started spreading awareness after the Hollywood actor DiCaprio's Instagram post went viral.

Some of the B-town celebs that include Akshay, Disha Patani, Alia Bhatt and others posted about the incident on their respective social media accounts. Alia Bhatt shared the post of DiCaprio and wrote, 'This is just heartbreaking.” The picture in the post shows the lush green forest going up in thick smoke. After Alia, the Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor also articulated his concern over the Amazon forest and wrote, ‘It’s scary how bad the fire at the Amazon Rainforest is!! I can’t even begin to imagine the impact this will have on the world environment. It is truly saddening. #PrayforAmazon.'

On the official Twitter account, Alia wrote, 'The 'lungs of our planet' are burning! The #AmazonRainforest is home to about 3 Mn species of plants & animals and 1 Mn indigenous people. It plays an important role in keeping the planet's carbon dioxide levels in check. We won't exist without it! #SaveTheAmazon #PrayforAmazonas.' The environmentalists usually term Amazon forests as the 'lungs of the Earth'.

Akshay Kumar took his official micro-blogging website and wrote, 'Been seeing heart-breaking & alarming pictures of the Amazon rainforest which has been on fire for more than 2 weeks!It is responsible for 20% of the world’s oxygen.This affects each one of us...the earth may survive climate change but we won’t. #SaveTheAmazon #PrayForTheAmazon.' The Andhudhan actor Ayushmann Khurrana also showed his concern over the forest. He wrote, 'The Lungs of our planet Earth have been burning for weeks! #PrayforAmazonia.'

Originally, NASA released the pictures of Amazon on fire on 11th August. They have also reported that its satellites had discovered the increased fire activity in the months of August and July.
