Asian Games 2018 Day 5: Ankita Raina Bags A Bronze Medal In Women’s Tennis

Indian athletes are all set to have an action-packed day today at the Asian Games 2018 with medal hopes resting on shooters, wrestlers, rowers and shuttlers. Ankita Raina has made it to the semifinals has surely assured to bag a medal. She will be showing off her skills along with compatriot and star player Ravi Bopanna.

Talented young archer Atanu Das will present Indian challenge in the Individual Recurve event, while gymnast Praniti Nayak and Aruna Budda will try to bag a gold medal in the women’s Vault finals.

Badminton stars shuttlers PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal will kick-off their campaign in women’s singles round of 32. Meanwhile, veteran Saurav Ghosal along with Dipika Pallikal will try to win more and more medals in Squash and make India proud.

PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal were successful in winning over Thi Trang Vu of Vietnam and Soraya Aghaeihajiagha of Iran respectively and made it to pre-quarterfinal in Women’s Singles. Sindhu will take on Vietnam’s VU Thi Trang in her opening match in the round of 32.

Tennis player Ankita Raina have a faceoff with China's Shuai Zhang in Women’s Tennis Singles Semifinal. However, she manages to bag just a bronze medal. Ankita tried her best to get the bronze medal for our country.  Everybody was longing for the same incredible comeback that Ankita made in the quarterfinals against the Hong Kong opponent Eudice Chong but it never came. India now has 16 medals - 4 gold, 3 silver, 9 bronze.

Harinder Pal Singh manages to win against Korea's Youngjo Ko 3-0 to enter men's singles round of 16.

Indian athlete's Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan hope of winning a silver medal as they win against Shimabukuro Sho and Uesugi Kaito of Japan 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 to enter the men's doubles final.

Deepika Kumari wins against Ri Ji Hyang of North Korea 6-2 in Recurve Women's Individual1/16 Eliminations and makes way to the pre-quarterfinals. Promila Daimary loses 2-6 against Urantungalag Bishinde of Mongolia to crash out.

Every athlete representing India is doing extremely well and trying to bag as medals as they can. Girl power is definitely on a roll in Asian Games 2018 and this is a proud moment for the entire country.
