Recently, actor Arbaaz Khan grabbed media attention when he confessed to his involvement in IPL. Many speculations are being made regarding his split with wife Malaika Arora. Some are also relating their divorce with Arbaaz's involvement in betting. The actor and filmmaker lost around 2.80 crores in IPL betting to a bookie and has also admitted the same in-front of Maharashtra Police.
Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan got married in 1998 and together they have a son. Both of them announced their separation saying it was a mutual decision and they were together for the sake of their child 'Arhaan', who is 15 now. Post-separation custody of son was given to Malaika and Arbaaz has some visitation rights. Family members including Salman and father Salim Khan tried their best to make Arbaaz come out of betting but it didn't work and the couple got separated. Malaika is also said to warn Arbaaz not to indulge in such activities but the later didn't listen to her and this ended their marriage.
"We are not separated because of a third random person like there were stories of a friendship between a businessman and Malaika. Nor was it about his family disapproving of her lifestyle, nor does she feel that her husband is not financially stable" said the couple in a joint statement given by them. It was rumored that Malaika's relationship with Arjun Kapoor has resulted in their divorce. But this statement has finally clarified everything.
They both are on friendly terms with each other and are spotted hanging out even after their separation. They are also concerned for their son and have mutually taken the responsibility to look after him. They are one of the most famous B-town couples. Together they have produced movies of 'Dabangg' franchise and also 'Dolly Ki Doli' starring Sonam Kapoor.
