Ace Bollywood super stars Anupam Kher and Shah Rukh Khan donned the characters of a lovable father-son pair in Aditya Chopra’s super duper hit Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995).
Anupam’s role as Dharamvir Malhotra was completely opposite to the stereotypical strict father we were used to witnessing him in Bollywood flicks. This was a loving, caring and affectionate man who was friends with his dashing and loving son in the best way. He played as a tower of strength for him all through his life.
About 24 years after the film’s release, well known personlaity Anupam, on the micro-blogging site, shared a delightful GIF from the mega hit tale and penned a note that he was missing King Khan.
On Twitter, the superb actor wrote, “मेरे प्यारे @iamsrk !! बस ऐसे ही!! न्यू यॉर्क में तुम्हारी अचानक याद आयी। We have had some great times together. And then we all grew up!! Love and prayers always.”
SRK had a super special reaction to Kher’s tweet.
The superstar wrote, “Arre nahi Daddy Cool! ‘Grow up’ hon aapke dushman. Hum dono ka dil to baccha hai ji. Come back home let’s start with snakes and ladders and we can move to making sand castles in the air. Miss you.”
Anupam, whose movie ‘Hotel Mumbai’ reached theaters in USA and Canada during the last month, is presently stationed in New York for the shooting of his medical drama television series New Amsterdam. He has been in the Big Apple since July last year.
