We are all aware of what it is like to be a superstar and to maintain that stature for a long time. Amitabh Bachchan is one actor who doesn't need any introduction. He is the Shahenshah of Bollywood for the last five decades now.
He has done many number of roles and he is therefore known for his versatility. He also changed the face of Indian Cinema and therefore redefined the Bollywood Industry to an ultimately new level.
He got the title of an angry young man to a child-like dad. All his movies mark his long journey in the film industry. Even at the age of 76, Big B can give any young actor a run for his money. However, the veteran actor thinks otherwise.
Mr Bachchan who is collaborating with many young actors of this generation for his upcoming projects is in awe of their talent. The 76-year-old actor says actors like Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao have honed their craft to such a level that even he gets scared while working with them.
Bachchan adds while he is still trying to fine-tune his craft, young actors come prepared on sets. "The new generation of actors like Alia, Anushka (Sharma), Deepika (Padukone), they are such capable actors, you get scared while working with them, kha hee jayenge (they'll eat me up). They are so brilliant," said Big B.
"We took years and years and are still trying to fine-tune our craft but these people, they come first day on the set and know exactly what they are doing. They are so confident, mature," Bachchan."
The Brahmastra actor says he considers himself fortunate to have worked with two generations of actors.
"Look at Sushant (Singh Rajput), Varun (Dhawan), Rajkummar Rao and Kartik Aaryan. I get so obsessed that I write to them and send flowers when I watch their performance. I am fortunate that I've been able to live through the period where I saw Meena (Kumari) ji, Nutan ji, Waheeda (Rehman) ji and now I'm getting an opportunity to work with actors like Alia and Ranbir (his 'Brahmastra' co-stars). It's just unbelievable," he adds.
Big B will be next seen in Thugs of Hindostan with Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film is set to hit the screens this November.
