At the present time, Bollywood movie makers frequently follow special ways to give genuine looks to their movies. In the most recent case, we have discovered that for much-awaited film Thugs of Hindostan, the producers set up two gigantic ships weighing more than two lakh kilos.
As per a source, “Since sea and ships play an integral part in the plot, Aamir as well as (producer) Aditya Chopra were sure that they would go all out to present the biggest spectacle that Hindi cinema has ever witnessed. The film’s budgets are yet to be ascertained, but the cost for the two ships easily runs into several crores.”
That’s how two massive ships with the weight two lakh kilos got set up by more than 1,000 people, comprising global designers and ship manufacturers.
“It took over a year to build these two ships off the coast of Malta (in Europe). Director Viktor (Vijay Krishna Acharya) wanted to go the whole hog in terms of scale and create a huge visual experience. Authenticity and aesthetics have both been kept in mind given the fact that it’s a period film,” added the insider.
The movie also features Fatima Sana Shaikh, who was lastly witnessed as Geeta Phogat in the super duper hit film Dangal, which also features Aamir play her reel dad; and Katrina Kaif.
The film, which will hit theatres during Diwali, has remained as the talk of the town for its abundant scale, classic sets, artistic shot-taking and vast mounting.
Apparently, in Malta, director Vijay Krishna Acharya also known as Viktor set up a world where dream and realism appeared to unite visually.
A source stated, “The director needed a pristine, unseen location and a setting where two huge ships could fit in. The ships were built by international teams that were experts in constructing such set-ups for Hollywood films.”
45 DAYS SHOOT IN MALTA
The long agenda was hectic.
“The crew stayed in the island country for 45 days and shot at various locations, making it one of the most-expensive outdoor schedules in the history of Indian cinema,” added the source.
