15-Year-Old Shardul Vihan Wins Silver For India In Asian Games 2018

Asian Games 2018 are going on in Jakarta and Palembang. India is in its full zest and enthusiasm as the players of all the games are playing exceptionally well and continuing to make our country proud. India stands at place 9 with 17 medals in its accounts. Indian athletes are at their best and even those young age player are doing exceptionally well.

On the day 5th of Asian Games 2018, 15 years old Shooter Shardul Vihan is stealing the headlines by winning the silver medal in the men’s double trap event. Staying at the top two positions throughout the game he made a score of 141 in the finals.

With very close to South Korea’s Shin Hyunwoo, he lost the gold though, but oh boy, he played really well.

Shardul Vihan is the third teenage shooter from India to grab a medal at the Asian Games. 19-year old Lakshay Sheroan won silver in the men’s trap event while 16-year old Saurabh Chaudhary won a gold in the men’s 10m air pistol event. Last year in November, Vihan grabbed the headlines for winning four gold medals on a single day in the 61st National Shooting Championship and beat the world number one double trapper Ankur Mittal 78-76 in the men’s final.

Twitter Official of Team India announced the same and tweeted, "A 15-year-old wonder boy won a Silver medal in the Men's Double Trap #Shooting event today! The boy was #ShardulVihan who won #TeamIndia it's 4th Silver medal at #AsianGames2018! #WellDone @ShardulVihan The country is mighty proud of your achievement!".

Cricketer Virendra Sehwag also congratulated the young boy and tweeted:

Talented young archer Atanu Das will present Indian challenge in the Individual Recurve event, while gymnast Praniti Nayak and Aruna Budda will try to bag a gold medal in the women’s Vault finals.

Badminton stars shuttlers PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal will kick-off their campaign in women’s singles round of 32. Meanwhile, veteran Saurav Ghosal along with Dipika Pallikal will try to win more and more medals in Squash and make India proud.
